How would you like all the benefits of a blog with none of the responsibilities?

July 11, 2007

  • Blogs create recognition.
  • They are a good way to keep a finger on the pulse of what is going on in your area of expertise.
  • Blogs are great ways to network and meet other like-minded individuals.
  • Some blog sites provide a strong community of experts who can help you find the right answers to just about anything.
  • Links from blogs to your site strengthen your rankings in search engines and increase your credibility.
  • And believe it or not, blogs can be fun and help you focus on important topics.

  • Everyone knows that a good blog can be hard for one person to maintain.
  • In order to get the maximum amount of traffic posts must be made on a regular basis.
  • But that doesn’t mean you can post a quick, useless blurb 10 times a day and have everyone on the planet know you by name.
  • In order to be effective, good blogs require a certain amount of dedication and focus

I have been blogging for several months now and would like to suggest a solution to my fellow entrepreneurs. (Feel free to pass this open invitation along to your friends.)

I am thinking of starting a blog for all entrepreneurs. I am looking for several dozen smart, experienced, articulate entrepreneurs who would like to join me in writing a common entrepreneurial blog called the Startup Sherpa. Contributing writers are requested to write one or two posts each month and support other sherpa bloggers with periodic comments and suggestions. In addition to being our own best source of support for questions and for kicking around new ideas, I think that one blog with several dozen contributing writers would be much stronger than several dozen separate blogs.

If you are interested in participating or if you have suggestions for improving this idea, please let me know and I will add you to the blog list. I have the initial blog site established at http://www.startupsherpa.wordpress.com so feel free to visit and leave comments there as well.

Hope to hear from you soon!
